From stilettos to steel toes

My life have changed from a corporate world to the dirty world of gas…

Switch off your phone please…

Cellphones are overrated.  I really don’t get it – why do some people get overly “excited” to switch on their phones as soon as the plane touches down.  Not like replying text messages 5 minutes later would cost you a million dollar – seriously!

There’s one time, my plane from Miri landed in our “beloved” LCCT, we were waiting for the door to open when suddenly someone’s phone rang.  My reflex suddenly shouted “Eh, phone sapa tu?”  Suddenly a guy in his 40s looked at me one kind, turned to his phone and press the silent button.

The most recent one, while waiting (again) for the door to open, a guy in his 50s is reading his text messages.  Huh, if any of these plane went off it’s track, I do know who’s to blame!

I really don’t know if this is due to pure ignorance or lack of reading in our people, but it had happened before (more than once) when a plane successfully landed and it went off its track due to signal interruption from cellphone(s).  And yet, these ever-so-busy businessmen still have the guts to switch on their phones so soon…

Unless you are the prime minister, I bet waiting 5 minutes before you switch on your phone is well worth it.  For all you know, when you switch your phone on, the only message you receive is from your service provided saying “Welcome to Malaysia.”
